Coffee with a Client
We caught up with Fairlands-based IT professional Jason Roskin, 37 and his food fundi daughter Daniella, 10, at Succulent Café.

Jason confessed that they need their weekly fix at Succulent Cafe:
“We’ve been coming here since they’ve opened. We come in every Friday once a week after school, normally as a treat for Daniella.
“Sometimes we do pop in over weekends with my wife Abida in tow. We love the opportunity to browse and look around at leisure and then indulge in some of the Succulent dishes. I love that the menu has healthy options with lots of flavour. My best dishes are the smoked chicken sandwich and the chicken liver pate.”
Daniella who has aspirations to be a histophogartist (combination of historian, photographer, artist, actress and professional golfer) was also quick to throw in her favourite dish on the Succulent menu.
She said: “ My favourite is the phyllo pastry with salmon and spring onion. In fact I’ve tried everything.”
Daniella is so impressed with the tea parties held regularly at the Store that she has tried to re-enact them at home with her friends. The bubbly Cliffview Primary scholar never leaves without a warm hug for the staff.
“That is what makes coming here such a pleasure,” says Jason.
“The food is complemented by the great staff, and we have built a good relationship with all of them. I’m so glad that the move means extended hours and an extended menu. It’s definitely something to look forward to,” he concluded. |
